Van life with kids / New York City
New York CityWe Slept in an Empty Van in the Middle of New York City

So what's it like to sleep in a van in the middle of New York City?
We tried it in our new van while it was still completely empty, just a mattress topper, a fan and a fridge. We parked on a cobblestone street near Pier twenty-six, and we had a view of the Freedom Tower. It was about eighty-nine degrees, so the fan ran all night.
With no insulation, you could hear people walking by and garbage trucks going through. Honestly, I slept maybe three hours. But Spencer fell asleep as soon as the lights went off and slept through everything.
